A dental bridge is secured in place by the teeth on either side of the gap. The first appointment

This is similar to having dental crowns. Your teeth on either side of the gap will be prepared for dental crowns. Then your dentist will take an impression of the prepared teeth to create a model. This model will then be used to fabricate your restoration. While your bridge is being a fabricated a temporary bridge will be placed to protect the prepared teeth until your permanent bridge is ready.

 The second appointment

During this appointment, the temporary bridge will be removed and the more permanent bridge will be placed to ensure it fits and looks natural. Once you and your dentist are happy with the fit, it will be bonded into place.
